A Glimpse into Air North's Rich Heritage

Since its inception in 1977 by Joe Sparling and Tom Wood, Air North has emerged as a beacon of excellence in Yukon's aviation landscape. Initially founded as Air North Charter and Training, the airline's humble beginnings were rooted in offering charter flights to the mining industry and flight training services. However, Air North soon outgrew its initial scope, expanding its fleet to include a diverse range of aircraft, from Cessna 206 to Douglas DC-3 and DC-4 aircraft.

Over the years, Air North's growth trajectory has been marked by strategic advancements, including the transition to Hawker Siddeley 748 turboprops and the acquisition of Boeing 737 jets. The airline's commitment to delivering authentic Yukon hospitality has earned it widespread acclaim, culminating in accolades such as being named Canada's Best Airline by Tripadvisor in 2020.

At its core, Air North embodies the spirit of Yukon, offering seamless connectivity between the territory and key destinations across Canada. With a firm emphasis on exceptional service and community engagement, Air North continues to uphold its legacy as Yukon's premier airline, delivering unparalleled experiences to passengers and stakeholders alike.

Although I have never been on a 737-200, now I will have the opportunity to be very close to a real one, thanks Aviationtag! I can almost hear their engines roaring…

The B737 has been one of my favorite airframes since first flying on one decades ago. And just last month I flew out of ILM to FLL aboard the new Avelo B737-800…what an amazing aircraft! With its pointy nose and sleeked back fuselage I always felt like it had a somewhat sinister look lol! I probably has a many B737 tags as any other airframe…keep them coming!
