Air France registered the aircraft as the F-GLZI. Over the years it flew around the world many times and visited many exciting and sometimes even exotic destinations and countries. On January the 8th 2017 the Airbus A340-300 performing flight AF-378 from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Detroit was climbing out of Paris when the crew stopped the climb and decided to return to Paris. The aircraft dumped fuel and landed safely back in Paris Charles de Gaulle about 2 hours after departure. The aircraft was towed to the apron. A passenger reported the crew announced a landing gear door issue. F-GLZIAfter 22 years up in the air the F-GLZI was withdrawn from use in October 2017 and flown to its final destination in the Netherlands in January 2018.
