An absolute rarity at Aviationtag!

The extremely rare cargo plane F-BTGV - a Super Guppy Turbine (SGT) built by Aero Spacelines - was built in the 1960s on the basis of the Boeing 377 Stratocruiser and during its lifetime primarily transported aircraft parts for the Concorde and Airbus -Models for the final assembly plant in Toulouse. She is the first of only two Super Guppies to be used by the world's largest aircraft manufacturer, Airbus.

The Super Guppy with its voluminous fuselage was in service for almost a quarter of a century and took off on its last flight on July 1, 1996 to Bruntingthorpe/England. There she has been cared for and restored with a lot of love and dedication by the "Super Guppy Restoration Project" since 2009.

Only five Super Guppys have ever been in the air and we are happy to bring the historic freighter home to you in the form of an Aviationtag!

Note: If it’s a new-looking tag without scratches and patina that you’re after, then this is not the edition to go for. The Super Guppy Aviationtag series shows clear signs of the many years of service performed its time out in Bruntingthorpe – each Aviationtag bears the marks of aviation history and has imperfections, scratches and parts where the paint is flaking on the front and/or on the back, but that is what makes each and every tag one-of-a-kind.

The paint – mostly pained on the by the Super Guppy Restauration project team – is rather sensitive, please be extremely careful how you use it. If you want to use the Aviationtag as a key-chain or bag-tag we strongly suggest to use the Aviationtag protection cover.

Delivery time depends on whether you choose standard shipping or express shipping. With DHL Express, your order usually reaches you worldwide within a few days. For orders to Germany, the EU, the United Kingdom and the USA, all fees are already covered with your order; there should be nothing extra to pay upon delivery. For all other countries, your home country may charge additional duties, taxes or fees upon import, which must be paid by you. These costs are set by the local authorities and are outside our control.

Yes, small dents, scratches, paint chips or other signs of use are possible. These marks do not come from production, but from the aircraft’s time in service, flying millions of miles and being exposed to weather, UV radiation and extreme conditions at high altitude. They are part of what makes every Aviationtag unique – a genuine piece of aviation history.

If you lose your Aviationtag, our Lost & Found Service can help: simply register it on our “Register” page using the serial number, aircraft registration and your contact details.
