Some aircraft are remembered for decades of service. VT-WJC stands out for the opposite reason: its story ended far earlier than expected. The Airbus A320neo was delivered to GoAir on December 21, 2018, later flew under Go First, and remained in regular airline service for only 1,273 days — just 3 years, 5 months and 26 days. In 2025, the aircraft was cut in France, and now lives on in this Aviationtag edition.
What makes this edition so compelling is not only its short service life, but the crisis surrounding its final chapter. In 2021, GoAir rebranded as Go First, aiming for a new start. Instead, the airline came under growing pressure as more and more of its A320neo fleet was grounded because of issues affecting the Pratt & Whitney GTF engines. Reported problem areas included the fan blades, an oil seal, and the combustion chamber lining, while the shortage of available replacement engines made the situation even worse. Technical issues turned into an operational and financial crisis that Go First ultimately could not overcome.
Made from original aircraft material, this plane tag is more than a collectible. It preserves a moment in recent aviation history when a young aircraft’s journey was cut unexpectedly short. As an Airbus A320neo Aviationtag, this piece of upcycled aircraft material turns a brief operational life into lasting aviation memorabilia.
