Africa is back at Aviationtag – and this time, our journey around the world takes us to South Africa. This edition comes from the Airbus A330-243 ZS-SXV of South African Airways – a long-haul aircraft built for great distances and one that shaped the rhythm of intercontinental travel for years. The A330 first took to the skies on July 22, 2011, and entered service as ZS-SXV on September 6, 2011. From Johannesburg, technology became part of everyday life: late departures, early arrivals, ocean crossings, familiar routines – and time and again, the moment when the cabin becomes a little world of its own and a destination somewhere out there draws closer.

Now you can carry that long-haul energy forward – as an Aviationtag. Each aircraft tag is made from genuine aircraft skin, crafted from upcycled aircraft material. A piece of aviation memorabilia that doesn’t just tell a story, but goes wherever you do: on your key ring, backpack, or luggage. And because every piece of source material has its own unique markings, every Aviationtag is one of a kind – numbered, precision-lasered, with its own surface and character.

In March 2020, its chapter with South African Airways came to an end. After that, the aircraft made its way to its final stop: via Newquay (NQY), it continued to Nîmes (FNI), where the A330 was eventually parked – and its material gradually began a second life.

Get the South Africa A330 Edition now and take a piece of aviation history with you on your own journey around the world!

Note: Every tag is unique. Depending on the aircraft, each piece can differ in feel, material thickness, and color. Small dents and subtle marks tell stories of years in the air and bring the character of past days to life. Minor scratches, paint chips, and irregularities are completely normal and give every Aviationtag its special charm — the charm of a vintage product made from upcycled materials. These features are not caused by the production process; they reflect the condition of the original aircraft material.

If you plan to use your tag as a keychain or luggage tag, we recommend the Aviationtag protective cover.

Airbus A330 – Facts & specs: The Airbus A330 is a twin-engine widebody designed for long-haul reliability and used worldwide on intercontinental routes. In the A330-200 class, typical seating is around 210–250 passengers, with higher-density layouts also possible. With a cruise speed around Mach 0.82 (about 870–880 km/h) and a maximum range of up to 7,250 nm / 13,450 km, the A330 is built for true long-distance flying. Key dimensions across the family include a 60.3 m wingspan, roughly 58.8 m length (A330-200), and about 17.3–17.4 m height. Many airlines also value the spacious twin-aisle cabin — often featuring the popular 2-4-2 economy layout.

These costs are set by the local authorities and are outside our control.

Yes, small dents, scratches, paint chips or other signs of use are possible. These marks do not come from production, but from the aircraft’s time in service, flying millions of miles and being exposed to weather, UV radiation and extreme conditions at high altitude. They are part of what makes every Aviationtag unique – a genuine piece of aviation history.
