Although today's newcomer last bore the British registration G-VMNK of Virgin Atlantic, it is better known in Germany as D-ALPA. The Airbus A330-223 with the MSN 403 was handed over to the German charter carrier LTU in May 2001 and had its maiden flight on the Düsseldorf-Toronto route.

After the takeover of LTU by Air Berlin, the D-ALPA was repainted in Abu Dhabi in 2009 in the Air Berlin livery design after it had flown to Dubai in LTU livery for the last time the day before. After Air Berlin filed for bankruptcy on August 15, 2017, the last flight of the A330 was on October 15, 2017 from San Francisco to Düsseldorf.

With the English registration G-VMNK, the aircraft was transferred from Frankfurt-Hahn to Manchester on January 2, 2018 to be repainted in Virgin Atlantic Airways livery and given the name "Daydream Believer".

After a good 90,000 flight hours and more than 13,000 starts, the Airbus A330 G-VMNK was then transferred to its old home base in Düsseldorf and dismantled there in the noise protection hangar in February and March 2022.

We are very happy to have one Aviationtag To be able to offer a series that, with LTU and Air Berlin, covers two legends of German aviation at the same time - and as the icing on the cake the great, glittering livery of the Virgin Atlantic.

Note: Each tag is unique. Depending on the plane, they differ in their feel, thickness of the material and color. Small bumps tell of the many years in the air and express the character of days gone by. Minor scratches, paint chips and bumps are completely normal and give the Aviationtag its special charm - that of a vintage product made from upcycled materials. These special features are not the result of the production process, but reflect the condition of the aircraft material used!

When using as a key ring or luggage tag, we recommend using the Aviationtag cover.

Yes, small dents, scratches, paint chips or other signs of use are possible. These marks do not come from production, but from the aircraft’s time in service, flying millions of miles and being exposed to weather, UV radiation and extreme conditions at high altitude. They are part of what makes every Aviationtag unique – a genuine piece of aviation history.
