Aviationtag x Kalitta Air

The Boeing 747 is aviation’s heavyweight icon—and N746CK is a true freighter from day one. This Boeing 747-246F(SCD) (MSN 22989) first flew on October 7, 1982 and was delivered in December 1982. During its Japan Airlines era, it became part of the JAL “Super Logistics” cargo fleet and wore the Super Logistics livery for a period—an unmistakable look from the golden age of long-haul freight.

Built for cargo at the factory, this 747-200 freighter was designed around what mattered most: moving oversized loads efficiently. The iconic hinged nose door enabled straight-in loading for bulky freight, while the “SCD” configuration added side cargo capability—features that helped make the Jumbo a legend in global logistics.

In November 2008, the aircraft joined Kalitta Air as N746CK and continued its cargo career in the United States. From August 2015, it was stored at Oscoda, Michigan—its long working life preserved in the aircraft skin that now lives on in this release. After around ten years of storage in changeable weather, it’s normal for the paint to show honest wear; small chips and flaking can appear at edges and especially in darker or black painted sections, forming part of the aircraft’s authentic patina.

Now, selected upcycled aircraft material from this authentic freighter becomes a limited edition aviation tag: a collectible aircraft tag created in cooperation with Kalitta Air. If you’ve been waiting for a pure cargo “Queen of the Skies” in your collection, this Aviationtag x Kalitta Air edition is exactly that—real aviation history you can carry every day.

The black plane tags come from the Kalitta Air logo, feature varying levels of marbling, and are shipped at random.

We send ours Aviationtags all over the world. You have the choice between Economy Class
Shipping as Warenpost with Deutsche Post or 1st Class shipping with DHL Express.

Note: Every tag is one of a kind. Depending on the aircraft, the feel, material thickness, and color can vary. Small imperfections tell the story of many years in the air and bring the character of past decades to life. Minor scratches, paint wear, and irregularities are completely normal and give your Aviationtag its unique charm—true vintage character made from upcycled aircraft material. These marks are not caused by the production process; they reflect the authentic condition of the original aircraft skin.

Additional note for this edition: after around ten years in storage exposed to changeable weather, the paint can show genuine age. Small chips and wear at edges and especially in darker or black painted sections are normal and part of the aircraft’s authentic patina.

For use as a keychain or luggage tag, we recommend the Aviationtag protective cover.

Boeing 747-246F (N746CK): This Boeing 747 is a true freighter from the start—no later passenger conversion and no combi variant. During its Japan Airlines years, it was part of the JAL “Super Logistics” cargo fleet and wore the Super Logistics livery for a period. Built as a factory 747-200 freighter, it is designed around cargo operations: the iconic hinged nose door enables straight-in loading of oversized freight, and the main-deck side cargo door supports efficient handling.
