TAROM Airbus A318 – A First for Our Anniversary

Our first Aviationtag was created in 2016. Ten years later, we’re celebrating with another first: our debut Airbus A318 edition! To mark the occasion, every tag in this edition features a special anniversary engraving on the reverse. Available exclusively with this edition, our 10-year anniversary booklet takes you back to our beginnings, shares memorable stories and offers exclusive insights behind the scenes at Aviationtag.

Following the A220, another new aircraft type joins our Aviationtag fleet. Delivered in November 2006, YR-ASA was TAROM’s first A318 and was named “Aurel Vlaicu” after the Romanian aviation pioneer. It remained with the airline for around 18 years.

As TAROM’s last active A318, it operated its final passenger flight from Iași to Bucharest on November 21, 2024. The very same aircraft had both opened and closed the airline’s A318 chapter.

After its ferry flight to Castellón, Spain, and subsequent dismantling, part of its fuselage skin is now becoming our Aviationtag anniversary edition. Affectionately known as the “Baby Bus,” the smallest member of the A320 family takes a special place in our history – and in your collection.

TAROM’s first and last active A318. Our first. Your piece of aviation history to celebrate ten years of Aviationtag.

Please note: Your Aviationtag was crafted from the original fuselage skin of TAROM Airbus A318 YR-ASA. Each tag is unique and may differ from the product images in colour, material thickness and surface texture. Small scratches, paint chips and irregularities are part of the character of the original aircraft material, making your Aviationtag a vintage product with its own story.

Please handle your Aviationtag with care. If you use it as a keyring or luggage tag, we recommend the Aviationtag protective cover. To display your collectible together with its product card, choose our Collectors Frame.

Airbus A318: Affectionately known as the “Baby Bus,” the A318 is the smallest member of the Airbus A320 family. It combines a shortened fuselage with the family's characteristic cabin cross-section and cockpit concept. With just 80 aircraft delivered, it remained a rare sight in commercial aviation.

Designed for routes with lower passenger demand, the A318 offers the cabin width of its larger siblings with fewer seats. Commonality across the A320 family helped airlines operate different aircraft sizes within their fleets. Its operators included Air France, Frontier Airlines, British Airways and TAROM.

We ship to most countries worldwide, with only a few exceptions. For most destinations, we offer standard shipping with DHL – our Economy Class – as well as express shipping with DHL Express – our First Class. The exact shipping costs depend on the destination country, shipping method and weight of your order and will be calculated for your delivery address at checkout.

Delivery time depends on whether you choose standard shipping or express shipping. With DHL Express, your order usually reaches you worldwide within a few days. Standard shipping can take significantly longer depending on the destination country; for distant countries and due to customs processing in the destination country, delivery may take up to 6 weeks.

For orders to Germany, the EU, the United Kingdom and the USA, all fees are already covered with your order; there should be nothing extra to pay upon delivery. For all other countries, your home country may charge additional duties, taxes or fees upon import, which must be paid by you. These costs are set by the local authorities and are outside our control.

Yes, small dents, scratches, paint chips or other signs of use are possible. These marks do not come from production, but from the aircraft’s time in service, flying millions of miles and being exposed to weather, UV radiation and extreme conditions at high altitude. They are part of what makes every Aviationtag unique – a genuine piece of aviation history.

If you lose your Aviationtag, our Lost & Found Service can help: simply register it on our “Register” page using the serial number, aircraft registration and your contact details. For tags with a NoLongerLost QR code, scan the code on the back with your smartphone or enter the 8-digit code on nolongerlost.com to register your tag. If your Aviationtag is found, the finder can scan the code or report it to us, and we will do our best to help bring it back to you.
