The story of B-6279 began in the spring of 2006. The Airbus A320-232 completed its first flight on 24 April and was delivered to China Southern Airlines only a few weeks later. It remained part of the airline’s fleet and daily operations for almost 18 years.

Its active career came to an end in 2024. B-6279 was transferred to Kuala Lumpur, where the aircraft was permanently dismantled and recycled. For us, however, this was not the end of its story. We recovered sections of the original aircraft skin and transformed them into a new Aviationtag edition.

Each aircraft tag is made directly from material that once formed part of this Airbus A320. Original paint, subtle variations in the surface and visible traces from years of service give every piece its own distinct character. No two tags are exactly alike, making each one a genuine individual.

B-6279 was an Airbus A320-232 with manufacturer serial number 2772, powered by two IAE V2527-A5 engines. After almost two decades with China Southern Airlines, part of the aircraft can now continue its journey in an entirely new form.

Engraved with the registration B-6279, the aircraft type and an individual serial number, every Aviationtag becomes a clearly identifiable piece of genuine aviation history.

Airbus A320-232: The Airbus A320-200 is a twin-engine, single-aisle aircraft designed for short- and medium-haul routes. When introduced, the type marked a technological milestone as the first commercial airliner with fully digital fly-by-wire controls. Measuring 37.57 metres in length, it typically accommodates between 140 and 170 passengers, with a maximum capacity of 180 seats. Its 3.70-metre-wide cabin, maximum operating speed of Mach 0.82 and range of up to 6,200 kilometres with Sharklets have made the Airbus A320 a highly versatile aircraft for a wide variety of route networks. The A320-232 variant is powered by two IAE V2527-A5 engines.

They are part of what makes every Aviationtag unique – a genuine piece of aviation history.

For tags with a NoLongerLost QR code, scan the code on the back with your smartphone or enter the 8-digit code on nolongerlost.com to register your tag. If your Aviationtag is found, the finder can scan the code or report it to us, and we will do our best to help bring it back to you.
