The "City of Vancouver" lives on – as an Aviationtag

Celebrate with us one of the last built Boeing 747 Combi aircraft with this exclusive Aviationtag. Made from the fuselage of the Boeing 747-400M, MSN 28460, with each tag you hold a true piece of aviation rarity in your hand. The aircraft entered service in 1999 with KLM as PH-BFV and was in operation for over two decades as a passenger-freight “Combi” Jumbo – one of only 61 built of this type. Under the name “City of Vancouver” it connected Amsterdam with the world. In its second chapter, it flew as VQ-BWM with JetOneX (operated by Longtail Aviation) freight on long-haul routes – briefly the only Boeing 747-400M in commercial service worldwide.

After its retirement, the Jumbo was dismantled in Stansted in 2024 – but the story continues: We were able to secure parts of the original outer skin and transform them into a unique product. The result is an Aviationtag with true 747 character – featuring original paint, visible rivets, and an engraved serial number.

What makes this aircraft tag edition special: In addition to the classic KLM blue, there are also variants in dark blue and white – some with original foil elements that were applied during JetOneX operations. These may slightly detach over time – this is not a defect, but a visible sign of authenticity.

A must for collectors: a numbered, limited tag that combines aviation history and upcycling. Whether on your keychain or in a display case – this Boeing 747 tag is a tangible tribute to the queen of the skies. Get your personal piece of the 747 legend now!

Note: Each Aviationtag in this edition is truly one of a kind. Depending on the position on the aircraft, tags vary in texture, thickness, and color. Minor scratches, dents, or chipped paint reflect the aircraft’s decades-long service life in passenger and cargo operations as the Boeing 747-400M “City of Vancouver.” Some plane tags even still feature original vinyl layers from its last operational phase – these may partially peel over time, which is not a defect but a sign of authenticity. These imperfections are not the result of production but part of the aircraft’s real operational history – giving each Aviationtag its unique character.

The Boeing 747 VQ-BWM was dismantled in 2024 at Stansted. To preserve the original surface, the material was salvaged with great care. If used as a keychain or luggage tag, we recommend our Aviationtag protective cover to help maintain its condition.

Boeing 747-400M: The 747-400M, also known as the “Combi,” is a rare variant of the legendary Boeing 747, designed to carry both passengers and cargo on the main deck – made possible by a rear cargo door. Only 61 were ever built. The 747-400M features extended wings with iconic winglets, improving aerodynamic efficiency. Its distinctive upper deck and massive 64.44-meter wingspan made the 747 an aviation icon.
