Aviation day X Lufthansa!

After the great success of the first Lufthansa Boeing 747 Edition a few years ago (D-ABVC), a Lufthansa jumbo was always one of your greatest wishes - which is finally coming true!

The Boeing 747-400 with the registration D-ABTE and the Manufacturer's Serial Number (MSN) 24966 was delivered to Lufthansa in April 1991 and named "Saxony-Anhalt". After 21 successful years, D-ABTE was decommissioned on August 6, 2012 and initially parked in Michigan at Oscoda-Wurtsmith Airport until May 29, 2013. There, the US cargo airline Kalitta Air finally took over the machine. With the new registration N769CK, the Boeing 747-400 was no longer in the air, but still belonged to the airline until September 2021 and was used for spare parts.

Now we are happy to introduce you to our latest cooperation with Lufthansa and to bring a piece of it home to you!

Note: Every tag is unique. Depending on the plane, tags may vary in terms of haptics, material thickness and colour. Small blemishes bear witness to the plane’s long history and are an authentic reminder of its glory days over the clouds. Small scratches, flaky paint and imperfections are totally normal and give our Aviationtags their unique charm – the charm of a vintage product crafted from upcycled materials. These quirks are not the result of the production process, they simply reflect the state of the aircraft material we use when it was extracted.

You can tell that D-ABTE had been in storage for almost 9 years, so the original aircraft paint of this edition is rather sensitive. Especially the blue Aviationtags – some of them with glued foil – have imperfections and patina, which makes them extra special. Please note that this is not an accepted reason for complaints or refunds.

If you want to use it as a key-chain or bag-tag we strongly suggest to use the Aviationtag protection cover.

Boeing 747: The Boeing 747 is a wide-body, four-engine jetliner which rose to aviation fame in the late 1960s. The first 747 completed its virgin flight in 1969 and remained the largest passenger jet in the world until 2005. Its wingspan is 64.44 m and the vertical elongation at the wingtip can be up to 16 m. It is also well known for its “hump” silhouette which earned it the nickname Jumbo Jet. Compared to previous 747s, the most significant aerodynamic improvement in the 747-400 is the wing size, which is 1.8 m (6 ft) longer with a 6 ft. high winglet that is angled upwards and slightly outward.

We ship to most countries worldwide, with only a few exceptions. For most destinations, we offer standard shipping with DHL – our Economy Class – as well as express shipping with DHL Express – our First Class. The exact shipping costs depend on the destination country, shipping method and weight of your order and will be calculated for your delivery address at checkout.

Delivery time depends on whether you choose standard shipping or express shipping. With DHL Express, your order usually reaches you worldwide within a few days. Standard shipping can take significantly longer depending on the destination country; for distant countries and due to customs processing in the destination country, delivery may take up to 6 weeks.

For orders to Germany, the EU, the United Kingdom and the USA, all fees are already covered with your order; there should be nothing extra to pay upon delivery. For all other countries, your home country may charge additional duties, taxes or fees upon import, which must be paid by you. These costs are set by the local authorities and are outside our control.

Yes, small dents, scratches, paint chips or other signs of use are possible. These marks do not come from production, but from the aircraft’s time in service, flying millions of miles and being exposed to weather, UV radiation and extreme conditions at high altitude. They are part of what makes every Aviationtag unique – a genuine piece of aviation history.

If you lose your Aviationtag, our Lost & Found Service can help: simply register it on our “Register” page using the serial number, aircraft registration and your contact details. For tags with a NoLongerLost QR code, scan the code on the back with your smartphone or enter the 8-digit code on nolongerlost.com to register your tag. If your Aviationtag is found, the finder can scan the code or report it to us, and we will do our best to help bring it back to you.
