The Aviationtag × Etihad Airbus A380 GLARE Edition represents the next step in the history of this extraordinary aircraft.

Made from original GLARE material from Etihad's first Airbus A380, A6-APA, this edition highlights one of the most advanced materials in civil aviation. GLARE — a glass fiber reinforced aluminum laminate — is significantly thicker than traditional aircraft skin. The visible layer edges make the complex structure immediately recognizable.

Due to the special material thickness of GLARE, some tags in this edition are noticeably thicker than classic aluminum Aviationtags. In these cases, the standard Aviationtag protective sleeve no longer fits, emphasizing the uncompromising materiality of this edition.

At the same time, the aluminum edition is nearing its end. Currently, only white aluminum tags are available — and these are almost sold out.

Airbus A380-861 (A6-APA): The A380 is the largest passenger aircraft in the world. A6-APA was Etihad’s first A380 as well as the 150th delivery of the type. The jet debuted the new “Facets of Abu Dhabi” livery in Hamburg in 2014 and entered commercial service on 27 December 2014 on the Abu Dhabi–London route. Powered by Engine Alliance GP7270 engines, the A380 measures approximately 72.7 m in length, 79.8 m in wingspan, reaches cruising speeds around 900 km/h (Mach 0.85), and, depending on configuration, offers a range of up to about 8,000 NM. After retirement, A6-APA was ferried to Tarbes in 2020 and processed there in 2025; selected segments form the basis of our edition.
