Aviationtag – Hunnu Air ATR 72-500 “2-JUCE” (MSN 774)

Carry a vivid slice of airline history that’s made to travel with you. This Aviationtag comes from the original fuselage of an ATR 72-500 (ATR 72-212A), MSN 774. The aircraft was first delivered to TransAsia Airways in Taiwan as B-22812 and later flew in Mongolia with Hunnu Air as JU-8801 before appearing on Guernsey’s register as 2-JUCE. It first flew on December 12, 2007 and closed its final chapter in Germany in late 2024.

What makes this edition special is its very colorful look and clear provenance. You’re choosing a real conversation starter that adds character to your keys, camera or travel bag and brings a touch of regional aviation wherever you go. Sturdy and compact, it’s practical for daily use yet collectible enough to anchor a display or become a memorable gift for fellow avgeeks.

If you value aviation memorabilia and upcycled aircraft material, this piece connects all the dots: TransAsia beginnings in Taiwan, Hunnu Air’s era in Mongolia, the 2-REG interlude as 2-JUCE and a careful transformation in Germany. Add this ATR 72 Aviationtag to your collection and enjoy the mix of story, utility and style every day.

ATR 72-500: The ATR 72 is a turboprop regional aircraft built by the French-Italian consortium Avions de Transport Régional (ATR) and developed as the stretched version of the ATR 42. Officially launched in 1986, the first ATR 72 entered service in 1989 with Finnish carrier Karair. Since then, the ATR 72 has become one of the most successful short-haul aircraft worldwide. For Hunnu Air in Mongolia, it also served for years as a backbone of the domestic network.

The ATR 72-500 accommodates around 70 passengers, reaches a top speed of about 511 km/h and offers a range of roughly 1,300 kilometers. Its robust design, the efficiency of its two Pratt & Whitney turboprop engines and the ability to operate on shorter, less developed runways make it a true workhorse for regional airlines. This combination of economy and versatility explains why the ATR 72 continues to be a backbone of regional aviation across the globe today.
