The Sweet Scent of Aviation

The ATR 42-300 with registration EC-KAI and MSN 141 was originally delivered to Simmons Airlines in the USA as N431MQ in June 1989. It was later operated by Executive Airlines Puerto Rico as N141AE from April 1995 to February 1998 before being transferred to American Eagle until 2004. In 2004, the aircraft was converted from a passenger into a cargo variant ATR 42-300F and operated solely by FedEx Express for freight.

Throughout its recent history, the ATR 42-300 was primarily used for cargo transport, specifically for transporting flowers within Spain and abroad, which could still be smelled inside the aircraft. Despite its retirement in May 2022 and subsequent dismantling in Moenchengladbach, the ATR 42-300 with registration EC-KAI lives on through Aviationtag.

Don't miss the chance to own an Aviationtag made from the ATR 42-300 with registration EC-KAI, which has a rich history of serving several airlines and operators throughout its years of operation – and for transporting flowers.

Note: Every tag is unique. Depending on the plane, tags may vary in terms of haptics, material thickness and colour. Small blemishes bear witness to the plane’s long history and are an authentic reminder of its glory days over the clouds. Small scratches, flaky paint and imperfections are totally normal and give our Aviationtags their unique charm – the charm of a vintage product crafted from upcycled materials. These quirks are not the result of the production process, they simply reflect the state of the aircraft material we use when it was extracted. The original aircraft paint of this edition is rather sensitive, so please take good care of your tag!

If you want to use it as a key-chain or bag-tag we strongly suggest to use the Aviationtag protection cover.

ATR 72-500: The ATR 72 is a turboprop regional airliner made by the French-Italian consortium Avions de Transport Régional for short-haul freight and passenger services. It was developed from the shorter ATR 42. In January 1986, the ATR 72 was officially unveiled, with Finland’s Karair taking delivery of the first ATR 72-100 in 1989.

The ATR 72 is the 4.5 m stretched version of the ATR 42. Like the latter, it boasts two turboprop engines. In addition to the extended passenger cabin, the wings were enlarged, too. As the plane’s fuel tanks are located in the wings, this also allowed the ATR 72 to have a larger fuel tank and in turn a longer range.

Its maximum range is a good 1,300KM and the maximum speed 511 KM/H. Depending on its fittings, the ATR 72 can accommodate roughly 75 passengers.

We ship to most countries worldwide, with only a few exceptions. For most destinations, we offer standard shipping with DHL – our Economy Class – as well as express shipping with DHL Express – our First Class. The exact shipping costs depend on the destination country, shipping method and weight of your order and will be calculated for your delivery address at checkout.

Delivery time depends on whether you choose standard shipping or express shipping. With DHL Express, your order usually reaches you worldwide within a few days. Standard shipping can take significantly longer depending on the destination country; for distant countries and due to customs processing in the destination country, delivery may take up to 6 weeks.

For orders to Germany, the EU, the United Kingdom and the USA, all fees are already covered with your order; there should be nothing extra to pay upon delivery. For all other countries, your home country may charge additional duties, taxes or fees upon import, which must be paid by you. These costs are set by the local authorities and are outside our control.

Yes, small dents, scratches, paint chips or other signs of use are possible. These marks do not come from production, but from the aircraft’s time in service, flying millions of miles and being exposed to weather, UV radiation and extreme conditions at high altitude. They are part of what makes every Aviationtag unique – a genuine piece of aviation history.

If you lose your Aviationtag, our Lost & Found Service can help: simply register it on our “Register” page using the serial number, aircraft registration and your contact details. For tags with a NoLongerLost QR code, scan the code on the back with your smartphone or enter the 8-digit code on nolongerlost.com to register your tag. If your Aviationtag is found, the finder can scan the code or report it to us, and we will do our best to help bring it back to you.
